Borough Council advances flood mitigation and ecosystem initiatives

PA MAYFIELD — Mayfield Borough Council pursues flood mitigation and environmental resilience using federal funding. President Diana Campbell led unanimous approval of Resolution 2026-02 applying for a flood mitigation grant to repair levee pipes and Resolution 2026-03 establishing the Mayfield Borough Ecosystem Reconstruction Initiative, advancing the borough's effort to convert approximately 2.4 million dollars in congressional funding to engineering and environmental projects. Council also unanimously appointed Seanna Koerner as borough secretary, approved an Intermunicipal Sewer Service Agreement, and scheduled a March 11 public hearing on adoption of the Northern Lackawanna Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan.
